Sodium Benzoate

So my doctor recommended not using sodium benzoate because it eventually breaks down to benzene a know carcinogen. I was googling and found this entry:

"Because it (sodium benzoate) only converts to benzoic acid in acidic environments, it is not used for its anti-microbial action unless the pH is below about 3.6. In the food industry, it is used in items such as jams, salad dressing, juices, pickles, and carbonated drinks.

It is also used as a corrosion inhibitor in automotive anti-freeze products."

Seattle Snow

Here is what Seattlites do when it snows. Yes, ditch their cars in the middle of the road!

Last week I had a five hour commute home. The exits from I90 I normally take were blocked. After four hours to get to that point, I had to go way east and come back on country roads.

The snow has been here for a week now. There has been no school. If they add all the days to the end of the school year, they won't get out until July.
